5-day indigenous play festival kicks off in Khagrachhari
CHTJ Desk: Five-day indigenous drama festival has begun from Friday at the auditorium of Khagrachhari Small Ethnic Cultural Institute (KSECI) in the town.
Under the auspicies of KSECI, the festival has been organised after two decades of hi-atus.
Kujendra Lal Tripura, lawmaker in Khagrachhari, inaugurated the event as the chief guest while Kangjari Chowdhury attended the rpogramme as the special guest.
Plays of Chakma, Marma, Tripura and Santal will be staged at very evening from 7:00pm.
Jiten Chakma, organiser and researcher, said JAC, Yamuk theatre, Hill Film, Santal Natya Gosthi, Marma Shilpi Gosthi and Radhamon Dhonpudi are participating the event.
Zahedul Alam, the first elected mayor in Khagrachhari Municipality, for the first time instructed the Khagrachhari Theatre to organised such a festival in 1993. (chtj-desk/report).
