Culture in Rangamati enrich through Sur Niketon---Dipanker
CHTJ Desk: FORMER state minister for CHT affairs ministry Dipanker Talukder on Saturday said cultural organisations like “Sur Niketon” must have worked together to more enrich our ethnic culture and spread it at national and international levels.
On the occasion of completing 34 years, Sur Niketon, a non government cultural body, organised the cultural event at the auditorium of Rangamati Small Ethnic Cultural Institute.
Dipanker was addressing as the chief guest and inaugurated the event.
Talukder further said that Sur Niketon has played a significant role in practicing culture and creating artists in Rangamati.
In his speech, Lecturer of Chittagong University Swarnamoy Chakrabarty said it’s not possible to get rid of from the ongoing militant crisis through applying physical strength or exchange of fire. There is no other way of culture to resist such ill plots in the country.
He urged the state minister for cooperation in organising a fiev-day cultural programme with the artists of ethnic communities in the days to come.
Swarnamoy Chakrabarty, lecturer in CU, ethnic poet Mrittika Chakma, Monoj Bahadur Gurkha, director of Sur Niketon and Rangamati radio music teacher Roneswar Barua attended as special guests.
Sunil Kanti Dey chaired the programme.
Rabindr, Nazrul music, modern and Chakma songs were perfomed by the artists in cultural event. (chtj-desk/report).
