All to come forward to save forests, environ in hills---Says Brishaketu Chakma

CHTJ Desk: With the slogans of dreams of millions of people, one world, and let it be no deserted land, the ‘World Environment Day’ was observed in Rangamati on Friday.

Under the auspices of Rangamati Hill District Council (RHDC), they day was marked by different programmes, including rally and discussion.

A rally was brought out from the premises of RHDC and terminated to district Shilpakola Academy after parading the main thoroughfares.

Brishaketu Chakma, chairman of RHDC was the chief guest.

Moderated by Kong Chai Marma, head of the Capacity Development Component of CHTDF-UNDP, the discussion was also, address, among others, by SM Zakir Hossain, chief executive officer of RHDC and additional police super Chitta Ranjan Paul.

Brishaketu in speech, said everybody have to be come forward to create awareness among the mass people for the interest of saving environment in hills in which full of natural resources. Every development actor must have included the environment issue in their activity. We have to be plant more fruit-bearing trees alongside the others species, he said.

If we could protect the green forests then we will able to ensure of green environment future generation. (chtj-desk/report).
