Govt undertakes massive dev progs for CHT---Says Naba Bikram Tripura

CHTJ Desk: The current government has undertaken a massive development programmes for the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) in this current fiscal year of 2015-2016.

As like as others parts of the country, remarkable development works has already been done in hills by the government. To develop the road communication and inert-district connectivity, the roads, bridges and culverts will be constructed in remote and inaccessible hilly areas in the days to come gradually while priority will also be given on education and health sector toward remarkable development.

Naba Bikram Kishore Tripura, chairman of CHT Development Board, who is also a secretary of ministry of CHT affairs, said this while addressing in an annual prize giving ceremony, and an opening programme of a academic building of Maiswari High School in Khagrachhari on Friday as the chief guest.

Academic building of the school was constructed by the CHTDB, spending Tk 20 lakhs last year.

Momonshe Marma, president of SMC, presided over the function while assistant teacher Sathoai Aung Marma moderated the event.

Tarun Kanti Ghosh, vice-chairman of CHTDB, Bimol Kanti Chakma, chairman of Mohalchhari upazila parishad, head teacher Karunamoy Chakma and Nilutpal Khisa, president of upazila AL, were the special guests.

CHTDB chairman inaugurated a series of development schemes in the upazila which are being implemented by the CHTDB.(chtj-desk/report/translated).
