Press conference for release 5 UPDF leaders
CHT Desk: Family members of five leaders of United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) who detained by the members of security forces in a press conference on Wednesday demanded unconditional release.
On November 19, army from Dasbal Buddhist Temple at Khaban Poria area detained five leaders of UPDF Pratim Chakma, Juba Forum leader Jiko Tripura, PCP leader Nishan Chakma, Swapon Chakma and Ranju Chakma.
Without any ground, the military picked our men up aiming at harass the UPDF, said family members. They said that with the instruction of army, the police filed false extortion case against the arrestees. They demanded to withdrawal all false cases and unconditional release of their leaders.
