LAKERS’ PUBLIC SCHOOL AND COLLEGE, Silver Jubilee, Ist reunion programme held in Rangamati
SHANTIMOY CHAKMA, CHT Journal Desk: The Lakers’ Public School and College has been playing a significant role in strengthening racial harmony in the region through spreading education since its establishment in 1991. Today the institution has fulfilled 25 years which was matter of feeling proud for all stakeholders and it was made possible solely for tremendous contribution by the people in Rangamati, teachers and patrons in together.
Maj Gen Jahangir Kabir Talukder, General Officer Commanding (GoC) of 24 infantry division, Chittagong, said this while addressing in the opening programme of ‘Silver Jubilee and first Reunion-2018 of Lakers’ Public School and College as the chief guest.
Celebration Committee of Silver Jubilee and First Reunion-2018 of the Lakers’ Public School and College organised the event on Wednesday at its hall room in the town.
The chief guest further said that Everybody irrespective of caste, creed and religion have to come forward to help the authority in running its function smoothly.
He said the main goal for education is not merely to achieve GPA, golden GPA or first place. The students must be acquired good education and they have to be built themselves with good character and honesty to be the worthy citizens and take the helms of this country in the days to come.
Urging, Maj Gen Jahangir said the teachers and directors must have followed the footsteps of the predecessors for establishing the institution into an institution of pioneer one in hills.
Rangamati Region Commander Bri Gen Golam Faruque announced that the Rangamati Cantonment Public School and College will be established very soon. Works for that school will be started after upon completion of land acquisition process.
Former state minister for CHT affairs Dipanker Talukder was present as guest of honour.
Rangamati Region Commander Bri Gen Golam Faruque, Vice Chancellor of Rangamati Science and Technology University, Dr. Pradanendu Bikash Chakma, Chakma royal family member Nandit Roy and principal of Rangamati Medical College Dr. Tipu Sultan, were the special guests.
Principal of Lakers’ Public School and College, Najnin Nahar Momota, made the welcome speech.
Maj Gen Nazmul Ahsan Memorial Stipend was given to sixteen students in the programme. A cultural evening was arranged at the compound of the school at evening. (chtj-desk/report).
