ABDUCTION IN HILLS, Rescue 2 leaders of HWF immediately---demanded elected representatives
CHT JOURNAL DESK: Elected representatives as well as traditional leaders in a joint press conference demanded to rescue immediately two leaders of Hill Women’s Federation (HWF) on Sunday in Rangamati.
Union Parishad (UP) Chairmen, ward members, headmen (chief of mouza) and Karbaries (village chief) of two upzilas---Naniachar and Sadar made the demand to the administration to trace out the two leaders of HWF and rescue them unhurt.
They organised the press conference at the hall room of Sapchhari union parishad office.
A headman of Sapchhari mouza Dipon Dewan read out a written statement in which some 188 people including public representatives were signed made for submission to the district administration for rescue the women leaders.
They put three-point demand including rescue of two women’s leaders immediately, bringing the kidnappers into book and ensure exemplary punishment and lawful action must have taken against the instigator of the terrorists.
Monti Chakma, central unit secretary of HWF and its Rangamati district committee’s secretary Doya Sona Chakma were abducted allegedly by the armed members of the gang of Tapan Jyoti Chakma alias Borma on March 18 from Abasik Hostel in Kutukchhari area under sadar upazila in Rangamati.
The duos were still remained untraced and the police failed to trace them out and rescue them unhurt despite fifteen days after their kidnapping that shroud mystery over the abduction and police failure.
Superintendent of police in Rangamati, Md. Alamgir Kabir said our detectives were keep trying to trace them out and rescue them unhurt. We are not going in hard lining operation either for rescue the abducted women’s leaders or to capture the kidnappers to avoid any unpleasant incident, added Kabir. (chtj-desk/report).
