Military recover arms, ammu in Rangamati
CHT JOURNAL DESK: Military personnel in a raid conducted early morning on Wednesday recovered arms and ammunitions from hideout of the armed terrorists at Kaiyndya in Balukhali union under sadar upzila of the district.
The retrieved arms and ammunitions are two SMG, an assault rifle, two foreign made pistols, sixteen rounds live bullets, two magazines of SMG, an assault rifle magazine, two magazines of pistol and a cling.
Receiving secret information, army operated the raid in the area at around 4:00am.
However, the army could not capture the terrorists as they managed to escape after sensing the presence of military men. But the terrorists left the arms and ammunitions behind them. Arms groups of regional political parties were accumulating weapons and ammunitions to commit terrorist and subversive activities in the hilly areas, Rangamati region sources said.
Satyajit Barua, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kotwali police station, yesterday confirmed the incident. (cht-desk/report).
